John’s practice concentrates in the areas of zoning and land use and landlord/tenant law with an emphasis on mobile home law. The land use planning aspect includes the representation of property owners and developers before city, county and state boards. The landlord/tenant portion includes the negotiation of contracts and leases as well as the litigation necessary for enforcement. In addition, John handles the defense of complex construction defects cases on a statewide basis.
A partner since 1992, John also acts as local counsel for many large corporations, including Waste Management and Sun Communities. John’s clients include developers, mobile home park owners, real estate developers and property managers.
John has previously served on the Florida Bar Grievance Committee, the Broward County Nuisance Abatement Board, and the Board of the Deerfield Beach Community Redevelopment Agency.
Born in Nashville, Tennessee, John attended the University of Florida on a National Merit Scholarship and graduated in 1977 with high honors with a B.S. degree in journalism. He received his Juris Doctor degree with honors from the University of Florida College of Law in 1980. John resides in Plantation with his wife, Linda, and their sons, Ryan and Justin.
John Voigt is licensed to practice law in the State of Florida, before the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida (Trial Bar), and the Federal 11th and 5th Circuit Court of Appeals.
