Born in Broward County, Florida, Scott is a second-generation Floridian who has resided in Fort Lauderdale all his life. Scott attended the University of Miami and Florida State as an undergraduate, receiving a BA degree in 1978. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Nova University for the study of law in 1981 and is a member of the Florida Bar, Broward County Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. He has also been licensed by the Florida Real Estate Commission since 1978.

Scott’s practice specializes in land use, zoning, development, and other property related matters. He also has a diverse civil practice which includes real estate, family law, real estate ad valorem tax appeals and general civil litigation. He is also the attorney for the Coquina Water Control District located in Okeechobee Florida.

Scott has traveled extensively and studied in Europe. Prior to law school, Scott sold real estate and acquired his pilot’s license. Other interests include sports, traveling, music, and a desire to visit every Major League Baseball stadium in the country. He is also the president of J.F.B.M. INC., which is an organization comprised of serious baseball fans.

Scott resides in Davie, Florida with his wife Kathy.
