Emerson has had a distinguished career of over 50 years of practicing law and community service. He has held elective office as the Broward County Prosecuting Attorney and served eight years in the Florida House of Representatives. He has lobbied extensively at the state and local levels. He was the Governor’s appointee to the Florida Constitution Revision Commission and also served as a Municipal Judge.

His community service is equally extensive including service on the University of Miami Board of Trustees, chairing the Broward County United Way Annual Campaign and President of his Law School Alumni Association.

Emerson is a graduate accountant and has taught law and accounting at the University level. Further, he has studied real estate appraisal at Florida Atlantic University.

He has focused his law practice in the areas of real estate ad valorem tax appeals, land use, zoning and development approvals. This has entailed working closely with all levels of governmental agencies, starting at the local level and including State and Federal. He has served as a land use consultant to other attorneys and clients for many years and in addition has handled hundreds of real estate ad valorem tax appeal cases.

Emerson is a native born South Floridian. His hobbies include traveling with his family, but Emerson’s driving force is working for his clients and community and civic service.
